Lunch Program: Understanding Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction (CMD): Incorporating Coronary Functional Testing into Routine Practice

Sponsored by Abbott.

CMD is an often-undiagnosed root cause of persistent chest pain in many INOCA patients. The prevalence is greater than realized: up to 45% of patients presenting with non-obstructive CAD have been shown to have CMD. INOCA is not merely symptomatic, it carries a risk of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) including cardiac death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, hospitalization due to unstable angina or revascularization. A planned full physiology assessment, including CMD testing, adds only a few extra minutes to a diagnostic angiogram, to give a clear answer to your patients who keep coming back to the hospital with persistent angina.
