Biographical Sketch: Carlos E Alfonso, MD, FSCAI is a board certified interventional cardiologist and Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He currently serves as the Cardiology fellowship program director at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital training program since 2013. He is the medical director of the Advanced Complex PCI and CTO program at the University of Miami Hospital - UHealth Towers. His clinical and research interest focuses on complex coronary disease including percutaneous mechanical circulatory support, AMI and cardiogenic shock, and CTO interventions. He is also trained in structural heart disease and transcatheter valve therapies including TAVR, TEER, and TMVR, as well as peripheral endovascular interventions.
