Biographical Sketch: Vika Kagan is an NP with over a decade of clinical experience focused on cardiovascular medicine, cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure. She brings extensive experience managing pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery patients, as well as those with heart transplants, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support, including ECMO and other temporary devices.
In addition to her clinical work, she has held leadership roles such as Manager of Advanced Practice Providers at the University of Chicago’s Heart and Vascular Center. She played a key role in developing cardiogenic shock programs at both Northwestern and UChicago, and has led initiatives to design clinical care pathways as part of broader quality improvement efforts.
Her work centers around improving quality of care, enhancing process efficiency, and building sustainable clinical programs. She also shares her expertise as a national and international speaker on cardiogenic shock and mechanical circulatory support.
