Biographical Sketch:
After joining the military, Dr. James Lantry held the role of vice-director DOD Inpatient ECMO program and co-director of the DOD ECMO transport program for 3 years. Over the several years he has cannulated in all areas of the world, from Afghanistan under rocket fire to a small Honduras medical facility. He has been responsible for thousands of miles of successful and complication free ECLS transport. Most recently he has served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical School and R A Cowley Shock Trauma Center. During this time he was also Associate Program Director Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Currently Dr. Lantry works as a vital staff member for the INOVA Fairfax Hospital. At this facility he has acted as the Medical Director for the CVICU, as the System Medical Director of ECMO, and as the Associate Director of Quality for the Critical Care Group.
