Biographical Sketch: Jason N. Katz, MD, MHS is a Professor of Medicine at New York University. He is board-certified in Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplantation, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Katz is the Associate Chief of Cardiology and Director of Inpatient Cardiology at Bellevue Hospital. He is the Program Director for the NYU Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology Fellowship, and also the Associate Director of the NYU LVAD Program. He is also the inaugural President of the Society of Critical Care Cardiology. His clinical and research interests focus on innovations in care delivery within the contemporary cardiovascular ICU, the management of cardiogenic shock, the use of temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support solutions, and the development of best practice principles for end-stage heart failure patients treated with left ventricular assist devices.
