Biographical Sketch: Brian Lima, MD is a nationally recognized cardiac surgeon and expert in advanced heart failure therapies. As the Surgical Director of Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Medical City Dallas. Dr. Lima also served as a National Physician Director in Cardiothoracic Surgery for HCA Healthcare. Prior to joining HCA, he was the Surgical Director of Heart Transplantation at Northwell Health, successfully leading the first and only heart transplant program on Long Island (NY). He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. He obtained heart surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lima has published nearly 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and given several presentations at national and international conferences. In 2022, he received the Outstanding Hospital Practitioner award from the D CEO Magazine annual Excellence in Healthcare Awards program. He is also a bestselling author of Heart to Beat.
