Biographical Sketch: Dr. Amir Kaki is an interventional cardiologist at the Heart & Vascular Institute in Detroit, Michigan. He is the director of mechanical circulatory support as well as High-Risk Coronary interventions through Ascension St John Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Kaki is board-certified in 7 specialties, including interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology, and vascular medicine. He has been published in peer-reviewed journals and is a frequent speaker at national meetings. Dr. Kaki is an assistant professor of medicine at the Wayne State College of Medicine in Detroit Michigan. His clinical and research interests include high-risk complex PCI, large-bore access, intravascular imaging, and zero and low contrast PCI. He is also an expert in alternative vascular access as well as various platforms of mechanical circulatory support including percutaneous left ventricular assist devices and ECMO.
