Biographical Sketch: Dr Rachna Kataria is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist with Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute and Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She received her medical degree from the Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine and earned fellowships in both adult clinical cardiology, from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, from Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Kataria'a research interests include management of cardiogenic shock with a focus on temporary mechanical circulatory support, myocardial recovery, and building collaborative networks of cardiogenic shock care, as well as patient selection and management of durable mechanical circulatory support in advanced heart failure. She is also passionate about improving uptake of guideline-directed medical therapy for patients with heart failure and access to equitable care.
