Biographical Sketch: Dr. Dan Schimmel MD MS, an interventional cardiologist, is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Northwestern University in Chicago Illinois. He started the Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Pulmonary Embolism Response Team in 2014 and co-founded the Northwestern Program for Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension in 2016. In addition, Dr. Schimmel also co-manages the Chronic Total Occlusion PCI program and is one of the program leads for the High Risk and Complex Coronary Intervention Program. Dr. Schimmel is productive academically and is proud to be fellowship director for the Interventional Cardiology Program at Northwestern University.
