Biographical Sketch: Marcus Flather trained in general medicine, cardiology and clinical trials in London, Oxford and McMaster University. He was Director of the Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit and Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College London from 1995-2011. He then took up the post of Professor of Medicine and Clinical Trials at Norwich Medical School and Director of Research at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. His clinical practice is in ambulatory cardiology, teaches on the medical school course and supervises postgraduate research students. He is a recognized expert in cardiovascular clinical trials, coronary artery disease, and heart failure. He has about 300 peer reviewed publications and extensive experience in collaborating with academic and industry partners to develop new therapies for cardiovascular conditions.
