Biographical Sketch: Dr. Junya Ako is a professor of cardiovascular medicine at Kitasato University. He is the head of the department and also is an active interventional cardiologist. He has authored and co-authored more than 400 scientific papers mainly in the field of interventional cardiology. His main areas of research interest include ischemic heart disease, antithrombotic therapy, cardiovascular imaging, and Tako-tsubo like left ventricular dysfunction.
