Biographical Sketch: Meir Shinnar is a medical officer in the Circulatory Support Device Branch in the Division of Cardiovascular Devices at FDA. He completed his PhD in mathematics at Princeton, MD at Harvard MIT program in Health Sciences and Technology, residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and fellowship at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His career in academic cardiology spanned 29 years at the University of Pennsylvania, Mount Sinai Medical School, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and lastly as a Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and head of the heart failure program at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. His current focus is on devices for patients with heart failure.
