Biographical Sketch: Dr. Rajan Patel graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed categorical internal medicine training at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He then completed fellowship training in general cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging (CT/CMR) and interventional cardiology at the University of Virginia followed by an additional year of endovascular training at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. He currently works at Ochsner Medical Center and is the program director for the interventional cardiology fellowship at the John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Center as well as the CTO PCI Medical Director. Clinical and research interests include mechanical circulatory support for the treatment of cardiogenic shock, complex and CTO PCI, advanced imaging for assessment of left ventricular ischemia/ viability/ recovery, and medical education.
