Biographical Sketch:
James A. Burke MD, Ph.D., FACC is a member of the Lehigh Valley heart Institute in Allentown PA where he serves as the Associate Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of Acute Mechanical Circulatory Support.
He received his BA from Gettysburg College, and an Ph.D. (Pharmacology), MD from Weill/Cornell College. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. HIs Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He was a Professor of Medicine at Temple University. In 2007 he joined the Lehigh Valley Heart Institute where he works today as a full time interventional cardiologist with a special interest in critical care cardiology and acute mechanical circulatory support. He is Co-Chair of the ACS Committee as well as a member of the Code Blue Committee and the ECMO Working Group at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
