Biographical Sketch: Dr. Kai received his medical degree from Jikei University in Japan and completed his residency training in cardiovascular surgery at Kyoto University and affiliated hospitals in Japan. In addition, Dr. Kai completed a fellowship in minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery at New York University Medical Center, where he served as a chief fellow. Dr. Kai also completed an advanced fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, where he underwent special training in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support device implantation.
Dr. Kai has written on aortic arch aneurysm, bilateral internal mammary artery grafting, off-pump coronary artery bypass as well as anastomosis device in cardiac surgery. His extensive research work was published in the numerous peer review journals.
