Biographical Sketch: Dr. Michael Nanna is an Interventional Cardiologist specializing in coronary interventions and the care of older adults with multiple chronic conditions. His research focuses on improving risk prediction, treatment utilization, and shared decision-making in cardiovascular disease. He has received multiple awards, including an NIH/NIA GEMSSTAR grant and an American College of Cardiology geriatric cardiology career award. As national PI of the PCORI-funded LIVEBETTER trial, he leads a pragmatic study of anti-anginal therapies in older adults with stable ischemic heart disease. Most recently, he was named a Beeson Scholar, receiving an NIH/NIA K76 award to investigate how cardiovascular medications affect cognitive trajectory in aging populations. He also serves as Associate Editor at the American Heart Journal and JACC Advances and reviews for journals such as NEJM, JAMA, JACC, and Circulation.
