Biographical Sketch: Dr. Markus Scherer, MD, FACC, FSCCT, FASE, FSCAI is the Director of Cardiac CT and Structural Heart Imaging and a cardiologist at the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute within the Atrium Health care system in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Scherer is involved in quality improvement and instruction for coronary CT, structural cardiac CT, transesophageal echocardiography, intracardiac echocardiography, and in clinical research for transcatheter structural heart therapies and coronary artery disease. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, completed his medicine residency at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and his cardiology fellowship at Rush University in Chicago.
