Biographical Sketch: Yiannis S. Chatzizisis, MD, PhD is Professor and Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and Director of the Center for Digital Cardiovascular Innovation at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He was trained in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging and interventional cardiology at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital. His research is supported by the NIH, industry and philanthropy. He has authored more than 200 manuscripts. His research has received >10,000 citations with an H-index of 45. He has received >45 international, national and institutional awards. He serves as Associate Editor for Atherosclerosis and Pharmacology & Therapeutics. He is member of Board of Directors of the European Bifurcation Club and founding member of SCAI Bifurcation Club. His clinical and research interests focus on complex coronary interventions with emphasis on bifurcations, invasive imaging (IVUS, OCT), advanced cardiovascular imaging, mechanobiology of atherosclerosis, and computational stent simulations.
