Biographical Sketch: Dr. Farooq attended medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar’s six year accelerated program. He graduated with honors and went on to complete his internship, residency, chief residency and cardiology fellowship as well as Masters degree in Healthcare administration at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He finished his fellowship with the award for Outstanding Graduating Cardiology fellow and Chief fellow. He then moved to University of Miami/Jackson Memorial to complete his interventional cardiology fellowship. After finishing, he moved to Orlando and joined University of Central Florida as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and joined faculty at Orlando VA Medical Center where he practiced as an Interventional Cardiologist. His passion for advancing his arterial and venous interventions lead him to pursue further training in endovascular and advanced vascular interventions.
