Biographical Sketch: Dr. Wael Abuzeid is an Associate professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Queen's. He attended Queen’s University as an undergraduate Biomedical Computing student in 2001. He completed his Doctorate in Medicine in 2008 and Internal Medicine residency in 2011, both at the University of Ottawa. This was followed by fellowship training in Cardiology at the University of Toronto. He completed a concurrent clinical fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and a MSc in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement in 2016 from the University of Toronto.
His clinical interests include Interventional Cardiology with special interest in Structural Interventions and Complex Coronary Interventions. He cofounded the Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Valve Interventions Program as well as co-lead the PFO Closure Program at Queen’s. He joined the TAVI team in 2023.
Dr. Abuzeid is currently the Division of Cardiology Clinical trials Research Lead and the director of the Cardiac Catheterization lab at Kingston Health Sciences Center.
