Biographical Sketch: Dr. Ravandi is a Professor of Medicine and Clinician Scientist at the University of Manitoba and a staff Interventional Cardiologist at St. Boniface Hospital, where he serves as Research Director for the Section of Cardiology. His research program applies advanced lipidomics technologies to define the role of lipid biology in cardiovascular disease, identifying novel lipid markers of myocardial reperfusion injury and generating a metabolomic atlas of human aortic valve stenosis. He remains an active interventional cardiologist, performing a high volume of coronary interventions with a focus on complex, high-risk procedures requiring mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Ravandi completed undergraduate and PhD training in Biochemistry and earned his MD at the University of Toronto, followed by residency and cardiology training at McMaster University and fellowship training in coronary and peripheral interventions at the University of California, San Diego.
