Biographical Sketch:
Denis Bouchard MD Ph.D, studied medicine at McGill and specialized in cardiac surgery . He completed a fellowship in valve repair at Cleveland Clinic. He practice adult valvular surgery at the Montreal Heart Institute since 2000. he developed expertise in valvular repair, minimally invasive surgery, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy . He co-founded the Minimally Invasive and robotic Program of the Montreal Heart Institute. Dr Bouchard is Chair of Cardiac Surgery Specialty Committee of the RCPSC and Secretary of the Canadian Society of Cardiac Surgeons. Dr. Bouchard is an active researcher and clinical investigator, with 170 publications, 4 book chapters and a PhD in clinical research. He is invited around the globe for lectures and surgeries and has lead 8 humanitarian surgical missions. His clinical involvement now includes a specific interest in trans-catheter mitral and tricuspid therapies.
