Biographical Sketch: Dr. Ashish H. Shah is an academic interventional cardiologist at St. Boniface Hospital and the University of Manitoba. His clinical expertise centers on structural and congenital heart disease interventions. He has a particular interest in the physiological and hemodynamic challenges associated with Fontan and other disease states.
Dr. Shah’s research focuses on biomarker characterization of univentricular circulation and outcome-associated hemodynamic profiling of various cardiac pathologies. By integrating invasive hemodynamics with circulating biomarkers, he seeks to improve risk stratification and identify mechanistic pathways that may inform targeted therapeutic strategies.
In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Shah is actively involved in medical education, mentorship, and collaborative initiatives aimed at improving outcomes in congenital and structural heart disease. Through engagement with professional societies such as SCAI, he contributes to advancing innovation and evidence-based interventional cardiology practice.
