Biographical Sketch:
Alexis Matteau, MD, MSc, FRCPC is a clinical associate professor at Université de Montréal and an interventional cardiologist at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and Charles-Lemoyne hospital. After completing a 3-year interventional cardiology and research fellowship at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal and at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, USA, he joined the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal in 2013. His focus is on complex PCI and management of advanced coronary artery disease. Since 2014, he is the co-director of the CHUM CTO PCI program. Over the years, he has participated in the training of many residents and fellows in the catheterization laboratory. Dr Matteau also practices at Charles-Lemoyne Hospital, a catheterization laboratory without on-site cardiac surgery, where he was appointed cath lab director in 2020.
