Biographical Sketch:
Dr Rinfret is a world-renowned interventional cardiologist and expert in chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). After working 20 years in Canada (University of Montreal, Quebec Heart and Lung Institute- Laval University and McGill) he moved to the US in 2021 after being recruited by Emory, where he spent 3 years. Dr Rinfret is now medical director of complex coronary intervention at GHI/NGHS. He has contributed to >250 peer-reviewed articles and has been invited >500 times to give lectures. He is a high-volume operator, with procedures performed predominantly in patients with CTOs and in higher-risk patients turned down for coronary surgery. He is the founder/co-director of the MLCTO course, the largest CTO-dedicated course, and editor of textbook entitled PCI for CTO; the Hybrid Approach 2nd Edition (Springer Nature). Dr Rinfret serves as faculty in important cardiology meetings, and pursues an active clinical, research, proctoring and teaching career.
