Biographical Sketch: Hyeon-Ju Ali, MD, FACC, is an assistant professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her primary clinical and research interest is pulmonary hypertension in patients with cancer. She is the principal investigator of the first prospective registry of patients with cancer and pulmonary hypertension and heads a prospective echocardiography-based screening program for pulmonary hypertension. In 2022, she was the recipient of the ISHLT Early Career and Trainees Clinical Case Dilemmas for her work on sacubitril-valsartan to treat combined pre- and post-capillary pulmonary hypertension. Her poster presentation on a case of pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy was also recognized as “best case” at the 2025 ACC Cardio-Oncology Conference. She has ongoing investigations to better understand pulmonary hypertension secondary to myeloproliferative neoplasms, major lung resection, cancer therapies, and chronic thromboembolic disease.
