Biographical Sketch: Dr. Lakshmi Rao is a Cardiology Fellow at Michigan State University McLaren-Macomb Oakland and is part of the MSUCOM Clinical Faculty. She has an interest in interventional cardiology, with career aspirations to specialize in complex coronary, peripheral, structural and thromboembolic venous interventions. Her main research interest includes interventional care for women, coronary artery disease and plaque modification strategies, peripheral arterial disease and high-risk pulmonary embolism outcomes. She is a sub-investigator in several ongoing studies focusing on outcomes in atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
