Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Afnan Tariq is Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Irvine School of Medicine. He specializes in complex coronary, peripheral, and structural interventions. He is an active researcher and innovator, and was a founding CRF-Edwards Lifesciences Innovation Fellow. He has completed fellowships in Cardiology at UC Irvine, Interventional cardiology at Lenox Hill (coronary and peripheral) and Structural heart disease at NYU Langone. He is also a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, and is a licensed MD/JD. Afnan has served on the Government Relations Committee, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and as advisor to the RUC. Afnan's research interests include novel structural interventions, intravascular imaging and physiology, and disparities and outcomes research. Afnan is committed to policies which promote health equity and improved outcomes for all.
