Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Hoyer completed medical training at The Ohio State University, pediatric residency at Wright-Patterson US Air Force Medical Center, and fellowship training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh before beginning his career as a Major in the US Air Force in San Antonio, Texas. He has been involved in numerous clinical trials to advance the transcatheter treatment of congenital heart disease. His interests include non-surgical treatments of PDA in premature infants, ASD, VSD, fistulas, AV malformations, and valve disease, as well as treatment of various vascular obstructions and recanalization of occluded vessels. He enjoys tackling challenging scenarios with innovative approaches. More recently, he has helped achieve more appropriate recognition of the work congenital interventional cardiologists do by becoming deeply involved in the national CPT and Relative Value Update process.
