Biographical Sketch: Matthew J. Price, MD, is Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA. He is a nationally recognized interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart procedures and the latest catheter-based treatments for heart disease. Dr. Price has authored more than 200 publications and twice been awarded the Scripps Clinic Department of Medicine Chairman’s Award for Research in Medicine. Dr. Price served as Editor-in-Chief of Interventional Cardiology Clinics, as editor of a major textbook on coronary stenting, an in the leadership of several clinical trials studying therapies for mitral and tricuspid valve disease, percutaneous approaches to treat heart failure, and new technologies to address calcified arteries during PCI. In 2024, Dr. Price was recognized by the American College of Cardiology NCDR with a leadership award for his work in evaluating clinical outcomes after left atrial appendage device implantation in the United States.
