Biographical Sketch:
Giorgio A. Medranda, MD, FSCAI, is a board‑certified structural interventional cardiologist with Catholic Health, practicing at St. Francis Heart Center at Good Samaritan University Hospital on Long Island, New York. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, followed by a two-year interventional cardiology fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Medranda’s research interests center on coronary and structural interventions, with a particular focus on radiation safety in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Additionally, he is deeply committed to community outreach, diversity, and mentorship. Dr. Medranda is dedicated to advancing interventional cardiology through clinical excellence, research innovation, and mentorship. Within SCAI, he strives to foster leadership, inclusivity, and the next generation of interventional cardiologists, reflecting his commitment to both patient care and the professional growth of the society.
