Biographical Sketch: After Bahadir (Baha) Simsek graduated with magna cum laude from Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical School in 2021, he joined the Center for Coronary Artery Disease at The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation as a postdoctoral research fellow. During his medical school, Baha also established a track record of accomplishment in research, and worked in the biochemistry department as a research assistant and published about 20 articles, for half of which he is first author.
Baha has a strong interest in cardiology and has done several research internships in cardiology at Johns Hopkins and at UCSF. During his final year in medical school, he had several clinical rotations in the US, including one in cardiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Baha also completed a one-year Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program from Harvard University.
He is pursuing residency in internal medicine in the US and will join Match 2023.
