Biographical Sketch: Dr. Basir received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), Erie, PA. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Indiana, Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology training at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. He is the Director of the Acute Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at Henry Ford Hospital. He specializes in the treatment of complex and high-risk coronary interventions and the use of advanced mechanical circulatory support devices.
