Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Bansal obtained MBBS degree from SMS Medical College, Jaipur and MD in IM from New Delhi, India, and later completed IM Residency and Nephrology Fellowship from the University of Colorado, Denver, along with certificate in Public Health Sciences. She joined the Division of Nephrology at UTHSA in 2010 and currently is an Associate Professor of Medicine and program director of Nephrology fellowship. She has won several teaching awards and has co-founded Annual Cardiorenal Connections CME meeting. Her research interest focuses on the volume/sodium control in the management of hypertension, CKD, dialysis and cardiorenal patients. She has received extra-mural and institutional grants and has over 60 peer reviewed publications and chapters. She is the chair of local IRB and CTSA-TIN chapter. She fervently promotes and teaches the home dialysis modality to the fellows and patients, is the member-at-large for North American chapter of ISPD and faculty at home dialysis university.
