Biographical Sketch: Dr. Varun Aggarwal, MD, is a congenital interventional cardiologist and Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He is dedicated to advancing congenital cardiovascular care for both children and adults through his work as a physician, researcher, and educator. Dr. Aggarwal completed his medical education at Delhi University, India, followed by pediatric cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology training at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. His clinical focus is on minimally invasive transcatheter treatment options for patients with congenital heart conditions. As a researcher, Dr. Aggarwal has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous awards at national and international levels. His research aims to refine minimally invasive therapies and advance congenital cardiac interventions. Dr. Aggarwal holds several leadership positions in professional organizations, including serving as the President and Editor-in-Chief of The Congenital Heart International Professionals (CHiP) Network.
