Biographical Sketch: Matthew Jay Budoff, MD is a professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Endowed Chair of Preventive Cardiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Budoff is on the editorial boards of Clinical Cardiology, JACC Imaging, and Cardiovascular Diabetology. Dr. Budoff has served as secretary for LA BioMed, foundation board member for ACC, and member of ACC's Scientific Session program committee. He also serves on the ExCom of ACC's Center of Excellence on Cardiovascular Risk Reduction.
Dr. Budoff has author/coauthored thousands of books, chapters, articles, and abstracts. He has received research grants from NIH, and has received the Gold Medal Award from the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and was recently designated as MSCCT. He has been inducted into the European Academy of Sciences. He was awarded the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 and named to “The world’s most influential scientific researchers.”
