Biographical Sketch: Joshua Kurtz, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics and an interventional cardiologist at the University of Louisville and Norton Children's hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. He went onto a pediatrics residency at Miami Children’s Hospital followed by fellowships in pediatric cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina and Pediatric and Adult Congenital interventional cardiology at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital. He joined the faculty at University of Louisville as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. While a fellow at MUSC he was sponsored by an NIH T32 training grant and received the American Academy of Pediatrics Research Fellowship Award for his project “Detecting the Pathophysiology that Drives Fontan Associated Liver disease”. His clinical and research interests include single ventricle anatomy and risk factors in this population as well as new techniques for interventional therapies in congenital heart disease.
