Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sasanka Jayasuriya is an interventional cardiologist with a special interest in coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular interventions including critical limb ischemia, carotid and aortic disease. She graduated medical school from the University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka and underwent residency training at the University of Arizona and interventional cardiology training at Yale University in Connecticut. She served as faculty at Yale University for 5 years following training. She is currently the chair for interventional cardiology for Ascension Wisconsin and the Director of the cardiac catheterization laboratories at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her interests include complex coronary and peripheral interventions and is spearheading the statewide PERT and SHOCK team initiatives for Ascension, Wisconsin. She is the author of the textbook: Peripheral vascular disease: A clinical approach. Dr Jayasuriya also enjoys research and teaching and has won many awards for patient care and teaching.
