Biographical Sketch: Dr. Louis Kohl, MD, FSCAI, FACC is a staff interventional cardiologist and serves as the Associate Director of the ECMO program at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Kohl in an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School and serves as key clinical faculty for the Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology fellowship programs at Hennepin Healthcare/Minneapolis Heart Institute. Lou is a proud Wisconsin Badger (undergrad), Minnesota Golden Gopher (Medical School), and UCSF Internal Medicine Residency alumnus. Dr. Kohl completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the HCMC/MHI program and completed Interventional Cardiology training at Duke University. Following my interventional training at Duke, I returned to Minnesota and developed the radial access program for the Hennepin Healthcare cardiac catheterization lab. I participate actively in site-based research and have clinical interests in cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support following cardiac arrest, and post-PCI outcomes of patients with advanced-stage renal disease.
