Biographical Sketch: Dr. Szerlip received her medical degree and completed her residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a Major in the US Army where she was Vice Chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her fellowship in cardiology at Medical College of Georgia and her interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Szerlip joined the Baylor Scott and White Heart Hospital in Plano in 2013. As the the Medical Director of the Percutaneous Valve Program, she helped start the Structural Heart Fellowship Program in 2015. In 2019, she became the Program Director for the newly formed Cardiology Fellowship Program.
In 2015, Dr. Szerlip was chosen by SCAI to participate in the Emerging Leader Mentorship Program. She is currently the Chairmen of SCAI publication committee and is a member of the SCAI Board of trustees.
