Biographical Sketch: Youngkeun Ahn, MD, PhD, FACC, FSCAI who is full time professor in Chonnam National University Medical School / Chonnam National University Hospital started to perform percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) as an interventional cardiologist more than 20 years ago. His hospital has highest volume center for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Korea. Therefore, he has a lot of experiences of complex PCI in AMI patients including cardiogenic shock. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology.
He served as Director of Department of Cardiology, Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Director of Planning & Coordination in Chonnam National University Hospital. He is current director of cell regeneration research center. He is also current director of scientific committee in Korean Society of Interventional Cardiology, Members (Medical Sciences) of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology and the National Academy of Medicine of Korea.
