Biographical Sketch: Madhan Shanmugasundaram, MD FACC FSCAI is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division of University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson and Associate program director for Interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease fellowships. He is an interventional cardiologist at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System (SAVAHCS). His clinical interests include complex coronary revascularization, hemodynamic support, chronic total occlusion, catheter based treatment options for pulmonary embolism and peripheral vascular interventions. His research interests include peripheral vascular interventional therapies, improvement of outcomes after ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest and role of hypothermia in acute myocardial infarction.
