Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Anderson is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. His interests include acute coronary syndromes and ischemic heart disease, as well as quality of care, performance measures, and clinical outcomes research in all cardiovascular interventions. For the past 10 years he has worked with health informatics and data interoperability. Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also undertook his cardiology and interventional fellowships. For 11 years Dr. Anderson was an Associate Editor of the journal Circulation, published by the American Heart Association. He also served for 9 years as an Associate Editor of JACC–Cardiovascular Interventions. Dr. Anderson was one of the founding members of the ACC-NCDR, and has served as a member of the Management Board, overseeing some of the largest cardiovascular databases in the world.
