Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Mazen Abu-Fadel is currently a Presidential Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma, and the Vice Chief of the cardiovascular section. He also serves as the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and interventional cardiology at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. Mazen is very dedicated to teaching and training future physicians and serves as the Program Director for interventional fellowship. He graduated from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, after which he joined OUHSC where he did his residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in general and interventional cardiology. During his training and tenure at OU, he received multiple awards. Clinical and research interest include vascular access and closure, acute coronary syndromes and endovascular treatment of peripheral and carotid arterial disease. Mazen is a principle investigator on multiple investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. Dr. Abu-Fadel lives with his wife and three kids in Edmond, Oklahoma.
