Biographical Sketch:
Michael R. Mooney, MD, FACC, FSAI, is a researcher and interventional cardiologist at the Minneapolis Heart Institute® at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. His research interests include therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, cardiogenic shock, new devices, LA appendage occlusion, PFO closure and stroke prevention, FFR and percutaneous aortic valve replacement. Dr. Mooney has published over 100 manuscripts and abstracts on Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, American Heart Association and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He trains Fellows in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Mooney sits on several National Steering committees and Medical Advisory Boards, the Advisory Committee for the AHA Mission: Lifeline Model Evaluation Task Force and Chairs the Data and Monitoring Committee Capital Chill Hypothermia Trial. Dr. Mooney speaks globally to help physicians initiate therapeutic hypothermia and cardiac arrest programs and systems of care.
