Biographical Sketch: Rahul Sharma, MD, FSCAI is a structural heart interventionalist and serves as the Assistant Director of the Structural Heart & Valve Program at the Carilion Clinic, and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, Roanoke-Virginia. His interests are in the area of structural heart interventions such as TAVR, TMVR, percutaneous mitral repair, left atrial appendage closure, ASD/PFO closure, and experimental structural heart clinical trial devices. He is active in complex coronary interventions, and the use of percutaneous mechanical support devices. Dr. Sharma has authored peer-reviewed publications, is an investigator on multiple clinical trials, and serves on various academic societal committees.
