Biographical Sketch:
Mauricio G. Cohen, MD, FACC, FSCAI is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is originally from Argentina and trained in interventional cardiology and clinical research at Duke University. Dr. Cohen is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at University of Miami Hospital and Clinics. In 2011, he received the “Stop Heart Disease Researcher of the Year Award” by the Florida Heart Research Institute. The same year SCAI recognized Dr. Cohen as an “Emerging Leader” in interventional cardiology. He has chaired the AHA Acute Care Committee (2016-2018) and is a current member of the NCDR CathPCI Research and Publications committee. His major clinical and research interests include transradial catheterization and intervention, high-risk PCI, transcatheter valve therapies and antithrombotic strategies in ACS and PCI. Dr. Cohen has more than 200 publications.
