Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Teirstein completed medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed a fellowship in cardiology at Stanford University and subsequently spent a year as a fellow in complex angioplasty at the Mid-America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. Following this he completed a fellowship in new technology for coronary revascularization at the National Institutes of Health. Subsequently he founded the interventional cardiology program at Scripps Clinic, where he currently serves as Chief of Cardiology, Director of Interventional Cardiology, and Medical Director of the Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute.
