I was inspired by my father Dr Galal El-Said, who always believed in me. I did my medical school and Pediatric Residency in Cairo University, to which I owe everything I have become. I then went to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas where I did Pediatric Residency, Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship, imaging fellowship and Interventional Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship. I trained in interventional cardiology with Dr Charles Mullin's to whom I will always be grateful. I completed my training in 2000. I am board certified in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital heart disease. I have been at Rady Children's in San Diego since 2017 and currently a Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of San Diego California, co-director of ACHD program at Salpizio medical center and the Director of the catheterization laboratory at Rady Children’s Hospital
